'Seeing Double: The Experiment' itch.io Game

Another project within my first year (Year 0) at NUA where we looked at using GDevelop for the first time to create a playable game in any way we want to upload onto itch.io.
This was my first time creating a fully playable game as well as working and learning with how to program in a way to create working mechanics.

The Title Page.
Here I experiment with using a moving glitch effect on the words as well as adding background music to the starting page to set the tone for the player before they even began playing.

Loading Screen.
I added some interest to the loading screen by incorporating it into the main story of the game subtly and allowing the player to become further interested in exploring.

Tutorial level.
First time figuring out how to explicitly tell the player the mechanics of the game whilst still creating a fun player experience and linking it with the whole game.

First Level.
In my levels I looked at using story telling in the form of text boxes that appear as you progress through the environment.
Created a collecting system as well where you have to collect gems to get to the next stage as well as key cards.

Ending Screen.
Finally even at the end of the game I still wanted to experiment with creating an open-ending in which the player can determine their own view on the story and allude towards another story.
